Bela Messex is an LA-based artist, BAFTA winning game designer, producer, and event organizer.
You may know his games Before Your Eyes, Goodnight Universe and Little Bug. He is passionate about all things game design and especially loves exploring experimental gameplay and controllers.

Bela's background is in illustration, graphic design, music and interactive sculpture, but games quickly became his most fulfilling creative medium. He loves intertwining code, UI, art, story and concept to create virtual worlds that live and breathe through audience interaction.

Speaking of audience interaction - it’s always been one of Bela's passions, and that's why he organizes Playdate; an annual game showcase that runs as part of the LA Zine fest.

Bela believes that the possibilities of game design are endless. He creates games featuring experimental gameplay, underrepresented identities and empathetic narratives. He will continue to design fun, intuitive experiences that question traditional convention.
