Oasis

“Oasis beckons reflection. Asking what is a necessary resource when death is inevitable. Will we measure our time in the water that passes through us or the art that we consume?” - floppydisko

First of an ongoing web-based installation series called “Elsewhere”, Oasis is a digital gallery featuring paintings by artist floppydisko. Inspired by a five year drought in California, floppydisko and I designed a gallery in the middle of a desert that slowly drowns you (the viewer/player) if you look away from the art on its walls. We recorded sounds of my shower and sprinklers watering wasteful lawns to bring realness to the virtual space. The two of us went on to form Buddy System, LLC, shipping our first commercial game, Little Bug, two years later.
