Playdate Pop Up

Playdate is an annual showcase of indie games at the LA Zine Fest. Since its debut in 2015, I’ve co-organized the showcase each spring and co-hosted the accompanying podcast, where we discuss, critique and gush over indie games. Playdate was conceived as a free event for indie game creators to share their wacky, innovative and/or unfinished work with an audience of all ages, but without the biases of a typical game-centered event.

It’s been a huge success - each year, thousands of curious LA Zine Fest attendees get to play games they never new existed. DIY print publishers and DIY game creators share so many interests - it’s been a joy to see them overlap in the same physical space.
